The Laboratory Core Services division at the SNPRC is a group of three primary laboratories dedicated to the support of research in immunology, genomics and research imaging.
Immunology
The Immunology Core Laboratory (ICL) supports nonhuman primate research for investigators nationwide with the following services:
- Flow Cytometry
- Luminex technology
- Serological surveillance
Research Imaging
The Research Imaging Core Laboratory (RICL) supports nonhuman primate research for investigators nationwide. Using positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), we measure endophenotypes of neurologic, cardiologic and metabolic processes.

The Pathology Laboratory at the Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC) at Texas Biomedical Research Institute offers anatomic and clinical pathology services to research scientists, investigators, veterinarians, and physicians at Texas Biomed and other research facilities.
Learn More
SNPRC has an extensive environmental enrichment program, in which all of our animals participate. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for the monkeys and apes housed in our facilities to express species-typical behaviors that are found normally in primates living in the wild.
